Daily Maintenance Suggestions for Pulverized Coal Lances
To extend the service life of lances and reduce abnormal damage, a sound daily inspection and maintenance mechanism needs to be established:
- Regular Appearance Inspection: When replacing the lance or stopping blast, check the lance surface for signs of ablation, deformation, or wear. Pay special attention to whether the porous area of the lance tip is blocked or the wear has expanded. Clean the blockages or replace the lance tip in time.

- Dimension Inspection: Regularly measure the wall thickness of key parts of the lance, especially the 500mm area at the front end. When the wall thickness is reduced to 1/2 of the design value, replace it in time to avoid sudden perforation.
- Installation Specifications: Ensure that the insertion depth and angle of the lance meet the process requirements, and the connection with the tuyere and ball valve is well sealed to avoid air leakage or airflow deflection.

- Standardized Operation: Strictly follow the procedures of stopping pulverized coal injection, supplementing air, and withdrawing the lance. Control the pressure adjustment speed during blast stop/blast resumption to avoid ablation caused by operational errors.
- System Linkage Inspection: Regularly check the stability of the pulverized coal conveying system (such as coal supply amount, airflow velocity) and the sealing performance of the ball valve to ensure that the working environment of the lance meets the process requirements and reduce the impact of system faults on the lance.
